Just before Sean started Dental School, his father gave him a priesthood blessing. I also had Sean give me a blessing. (Let’s be honest, I need added strength during this period of “single-parenthood.”) The cute thing is that this had a huge impact on Anika. So huge in fact that she has taken it upon herself to give her little sister blessings. Yes, you read this correctly. About every other day I walk into a room to find Anika’s hands placed on Avery’s head as she says a prayer. It really is the sweetest thing ever. I’ve tried to teach her that only Daddy gives the blessings in our family. However, she insists that she has the priesthood too! :) As much as Sean and I giggle about this, it really is so tender to see the impact that these blessings have had on Anika. I love her so much!!!

What a doll! That is so cute, it really is amazing the things kids pick up on. Hope all is going well, we sure do miss you guys!
ReplyDeleteCan't say enough about the great example you guys are to your girls! I totally hear you on the single parent gig. don't worry, you'll get through it! and if you ever need to vent just let me know. it's a tough road supporting your husband through school but it's so very worth it in the end. :)
ReplyDeleteThat story is so cute! Anika is such a doll. What a sweet story.
ReplyDeleteI hope you guys are doing well!
Oh just let her go and bless away. That is the greatest thing about kids. Their understanding of the world is really the way it should be. Love it.
ReplyDeleteShe's just following President Eyring's advice in the RS meeting by following the example of the women in the early church. :)
ReplyDeleteWe're so glad you found us!! We'll finally have a better way of keeping in touch. Hey at least Anika is blessing her sister sweetly, we can't get through a single prayer without Andrew abruptly and irreverently being thankful for the iphone... yikes where have I gone wrong?
